Heather's cupcakesWhen last we left off, I had just wrapped up my book tour stop in Charlottte. We barely had time to bask in the afterglow of a major cupcake binge, when I had to pack up and head to Atlanta.

Since Charlotte is not all that far from Atlanta, I figured it would be an easy jump across the state and then I could just relax for a couple of hours before the next event.

That was the plan.

But I failed to take into account the possibility that the airline would lose my pop up banner. View More: http://jenniferleephotography.pass.us/lostinsuburbianycIn case you were wondering, the pop up banner is the big sign I took to all my events that has the names and logos of all my sponsors. It weighs 20 pounds and is 6 feet by 4 feet when opened. How someone can lose something the size of two golf bags is beyond me, but they did. So instead of chilling in Atlanta, I ended up freaking in the Atlanta airport for a couple of hours.

The good news is, they found the banner. And we still had time to go find another Mellow Mushroom and get more pizza for lunch!

The Atlanta event was a blast. Screen Shot 2013-05-04 at 8.58.53 PMOur host, Melissa from Blo Beauty Bar put out a fabulous spread including strawberries and truffles, chips and salsa, and asparagus rolled in sopressata salami. Her team gave everyone with hair longer than mine gorgeous blowouts. And the guests all got a chance to sample some Cool Mom Margaritas made from Sinless Cocktail mix.

My good friend Danica and her team from the social media marketing agency, Everywhere brought wine and helped me welcome all of their Atlanta friends. Our sponsors Theraderm, Living Fresh, and Office Candy were also on hand with gift baskets and products samples for all the guests.

Screen Shot 2013-05-04 at 9.11.39 PMNot to pick favorites, but I have to admit, my best guest was my friend Desiree’s daughter. She helped us out greeting people and serving hors d’oeuvres. And she and her mom stopped at a bookstore to pick up a couple of copies of my book to bring to the party when the box of books I was supposed to have delivered never showed up (are you sensing a theme here?).

In spite of a couple of bumps in the road, we had a great time! I’m now halfway through the “Lost in Suburbia Cool Mom Book and Blow Dry Bar Tour!” Next stop: Los Angeles!!

But before that happens, I have a couple of other cool things going on!

Who’s writing about Lost in Suburbia?

One of my Atlanta guests, Sweetie Berry (don’t you love her name?) did a great wrap up of the Atlanta party. You can read her post here. Another new friend, Trina, showed off the aweseome pants she wore to the Atlanta party on her blog, Baby Shopaholic.

I did an in-depth interview for Jewish Women’s Magazine. You can check that out here.

There are some great reviews of Lost in Suburbia on Celebrity Parents Magazine, Shelf-Awareness.com,, Barista Kids, and Gatehouse Media.

I just added some more dates for bookstore events around the country, so check out the Book Tour page to see what’s new!

Hope to see you at one of these locations!

I’m sorry that I’ve missed you while you’re in my part of the world. My husband and I just moved from Augusta, GA to Greenville, SC. I still haven’t gotten settled so a trip was out of the question. Maybe next time, especially if you bring that adorable dog of yours!
